Calendula is often known as pot marigold, is an herb whose blossoms yield calendula oil, known for its skincare properties. Calendula oil’s regenerative and anti-inflammatory properties are known to be succesfully heal a variety of types of skin damage. The oil promotes the healing of wounds, burns and tissue and softens and soothes dry, chapped skin.
Benefits of Calendula Oil:
Skin dryness – it is a good moisturising agent for dry skin.
Inflammation- it works well to sooth inflamed skin conditions.
Baby care products- it helps to relieve itchiness and reduce redness in baby diaper rash cream

It could be applied directly on skin in oil form or mix into lotion or balm .
Use in soapmaking: To use calendula as a superfatting nutrient, add 1 tablespoons for every 5 pounds of soap just before adding the essential oils. For a greater benefit, add 10- 20% calendula oil (of the total fats and oils) to the other liquids at the start of the soapmaking process.
