Description
Olive oil is extracted from olives of olive tree (Olea europaea). Olive oil is often used in cosmetics industry as carrier oil and is very frequently used as main ingredient in liquid castile soap.
It contains of free fatty acids which is essential to our skin. It is natural lubricant or emollient which commonly seen incorporated into cream, lotion or baby oils.
Castile soap, be it liquid or hard bar made using olive oil is very moisturising to skin. However, castile bar made using high percentage of olive oils may be softer in texture. The lather of the freshly made soaps may not be as good as coconut or palm oil castile soap. However, upon curing, the lather may gets creamier.
Olive oil carries a lower melting point compare to palm oil and coconut oil. It affects the softness of soap bar. However, it makes soap moisturising due to its high fatty acids content
