Sodium Alginate by its name is the Sodium salt of Alginic Acid. It is a natural products (polysaccharide) extracted
from brown seaweeds. It is used as thickener, gelling agent and emulsifier.
Sodium Alginate is edible. It absorbs water quickly. In food and personal care industry, it is use as thickening agent in drinks and ice cream as well as gelling face mask or any other natural claim cosmetics products.
Sodium alginate is used in reactive dye printing and as a thickener for reactive dyes in textile screen-printing. Alginates do not react with these dyes and wash out easily, unlike starch-based thickeners.
