Description
Stearic Acid is a saturated fatty alcohol. It is commonly used in cosmetics industry as emulsifier. It binds water and oils together to achieve a stable emulsion.
It is widely used in products such as soap bars, scented block, insect repellent block, face and body cream, sunscreen products etc.
Stearic Acid adds hardness to soap bars. Soap bars formulated with soft oils generally would be softer, formulator would usually add Stearic Acid into it so that the texture would be harder. Low amount of Stearic Acid doesnt affect the foaming of the soap bars.
Tips:
Add to oil phase in formulation
